As AKT II becomes Tyréns AKT, our move to Elder Yard coincides with our 30th anniversary, marking a defining moment in the practice’s evolution. Together, our new name, new home and three decades of achievement reflect both our heritage and our ambitions for the future.
The relocation marks the end of almost a decade at the White Collar Factory, a building that has played an important role in our growth and evolution. Delivered alongside AHMM, Derwent London, Arup and Multiplex, the White Collar Factory was a bold experiment in the future of work that brought together innovation, wellbeing and flexibility to redefine what a workplace could be. In doing so, it also helped transform Old Street into one of London’s leading hubs for creativity and technology.
We’re now beginning the next chapter in another project with deep roots in our own history.
Located within the award-winning Norton Folgate development, Elder Yard is another Tyréns AKT project in collaboration with Stanton Williams as part of the AHMM-masterplanned scheme and delivered alongside British Land and Skanska. The project has become a widely recognised example of how new development can work in harmony with historic urban fabric in the heart of Shoreditch.
As we transition to Tyréns AKT, Elder Yard offers a new home that aligns with our design-led culture, supports our ambitions and reflects the future we are building together. Rooted in the heritage of making and craft, yet shaped for a digital future, it is a place that feels both authentic and forward-looking.
The move also reflects the continuing evolution of London’s creative economy. Over the past decade, the energy that transformed Old Street has expanded eastwards into Shoreditch and Spitalfields, where design, technology, culture and entrepreneurship increasingly intersect. For a business dedicated to shaping places, Norton Folgate sits at the heart of that evolution.
