Tyréns AKT has joined the Advance Market Commitment (AMC) for next-generation low-carbon concrete, supporting an industry-wide effort to bring new materials into wider use and reduce embodied carbon across the built environment.

New low-carbon concrete technologies continue to emerge, but bringing them into wider use takes more than technical innovation. It requires confidence across the supply chain, market demand and collaboration between clients, designers, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers.
The AMC aims to create the conditions needed for these technologies to be used at scale.
Our AMC participation was announced at UK Construction Week’s Build Connect Lounge at the NEC Birmingham.
Discussions explored how demand from asset owners, developers, designers and contractors can unlock investment, increase production and bring new low-carbon concrete technologies to market.
Organisations also shared how they are putting their commitments into practice and working across the supply chain to support wider adoption.
“Tyréns AKT joined the AMC because, as design-led engineers, we believe innovative low-carbon concrete technologies have an important role to play in reducing embodied carbon and addressing climate change”
For us, that means helping clients make informed material choices, sharing our engineering expertise and working with fellow signatories and industry partners to support the development and use of scalable low-carbon solutions.
The path to net zero depends on putting new ideas into practice. Through the AMC, we look forward to helping build the confidence, demand and shared knowledge needed to make that happen.
